Here is every tool in the game, what they do, and how to get them.

Tool	Description	How to Obtain
Sickle	Cuts one square in front of you. Used to cut fully grown grass to be used as fodder for your livestock, crops, and weeds.	Automatically in the tool shed.
Hoe	Tills one square in front of you. You can undo a square that you tilled with your hoe by placing a stone or fence piece over it. When tilling you may also find random coins (10G), money bags (50G), or moles.	Automatically in the tool shed.
Axe	Chops up stumps in 6 hits without moving. Chopping up stumps produces wood, which is automatically stored in your wood shed. These are used for house expansions, and building fences.	Automatically in the tool shed.
Hammer	Breaks rocks and removes broken fence pieces. Small stones take one hit, while large boulders take 6 hits without moving.	Automatically in the tool shed.
Watering Can	Waters one square in front of you. Used to water your crops and must be filled with water at the pond once it goes empty. It holds 20 uses.	Receive from Nina's mother at the flower shop at the start of the game.
Super Sickle	Cuts 9 squares in a 3 x 3 area.	During summer of year 1, you will hear a loud noise one night after going to sleep. When this happens, go to the hollowed-out tree at your ranch and talk to the Harvest Sprite inside. If you answer "very good" to his question, the Super Sickle will be stored in your tool shed the next day. If you answer wrong, you can still buy it at the tool shop for 2,000G.
Super Hoe	Tills six squares in front of you.	During fall of year 1 or 2, you will find a Harvest Sprite in front of your farmhouse. Give him a non-poisonous mushroom, and the Super Hoe will be stored in your tool shed the next day. If you miss it, you can still buy it at the tool shop for 2,000G.
Super Axe	Chops up stumps in one hit.	During winter of year 1, you will hear an earthquake one night after going to sleep. When this happens, go to the area in the mountain that just opened up and use your axe in front of the pond. If you answer "no" to the Harvest Goddess' question, she will give you the Super Axe. If you answer "yes", the Harvest Goddess will not give it to you but you can still buy it at the tool shop for 2,000G.
Super Hammer	Breaks large boulders in one hit.	Upgrade your house at least once. During winter of year 1 on a sunny Saturday, one of the carpenters will come by and ask if he can borrow your hammer. If you let him, the Super Hammer will be stored in your tool shed the next day. If you say no, you can still buy it at the tool shop for 2,000G.
Sprinkler	Waters 9 squares in a 3 x 3 area. It does not have to be refilled.	On summer 1 of year 1, Ann's father will come by and tell you he's making something and will be completed around the 20th. Starting on summer 20th, you can buy the sprinkler at the tool shop for 2,000G.
Seeds	The flower shop will sell various seeds to plant at your farm. Each bag of seeds will cover a 3 x 3 area. You must till the land with your hoe before you can plant the seeds.	Buy at the flower shop.
Paint	Paints your house in a cream color.	Buy at the tool shop when your house is fully upgraded.
Milker	Milks adult cows.	Buy at the tool shop.
Brush	Grooms cows.	Buy at the tool shop.
Cow Bell	Calls your cows.	Receive from the livestock dealer after buying your first cow.
Cow Feed	Feeds your cows as a replacement for fodder. It provides 12 feedings per bag.	Buy at the livestock dealer's.
Chicken Feed	Feeds your chickens as a replacement for fodder. It provides 12 feedings per bag.	Buy at the livestock dealer's.
Medicine	Heals sick or cranky cows.	Buy at the livestock dealer's.
Miracle Potion	Makes adult cows pregnant.	Buy at the livestock dealer's.
Magic Bean	Plant it on the top of the mountain during spring to receive the Golden Egg.	Sell a cow in year 2 or 3.
Seed of Snowflower	Plant it on the top of the mountain during winter to receive a Power Berry.	Buy from the Peddler at the Flower Festival.
Blue Feather	Used to propose to a bachelorette.	Buy from the Peddler on a sunny Sunday when a bachelorette reaches 5 hearts.
Saddlebag	Allows you to ride your horse (only at the ranch) and use it as a portable shipping bin. This is not an actual tool, but will automatically be given to your horse.	Receive from Ann's father after your horse is fully grown.
